Trinity Cathedral Patriarchal/Georgian State Chamber Choir

Founded in 1998 with the blessing of Catholicos Patriarch Ilia II, it is the main choir of the Church of Georgia.

In 2022 the choir was granted the status of State Chamber Choir, which was significant recognition for the choir.

Repertoire of the choir includes Georgian unique polyphonic chants and contemporary music, European choral masterpieces and Georgian Folklore.

The choir has recorded and released several audio albums, which include traditional Georgian chants, songs and contemporary choral works.

The choir is well known and regarded in Georgia. The choir performs concerts on local Georgian stages. These are solo concerts as well as performances in collaboration with symphonic orchestras, world known opera singers and musicians.

Also, the choir already has some notable achievements on the international stage.

The performance of the choir in 2022 at the Vatican was of special historical importance. With the will and blessing of Pope Francis, on June 26, 2022, this great honor to perform in the Sistine Chapel was given to the choir to present Georgian traditional and new professional music, chants, folk songs.

The choir participated in the Ruhrtriennale festival in Germany in 2024. The Choir gave a solo concert and performed in a play by world known director Kirill Serebrennikov. The play “Legend” was about the life of Sergei Parajanov.

The choir also performed in Paris and Brussels, contributing to cultural centers and festivals such as “Europalia.”
