10,000 copies of "YOUCAT Confession" donated for the Youth Jubilee - a gift to help rediscover the sacrament of reconciliation
On the Youth Jubilee Day of Penance, scheduled for August 1 at the Circus Maximus in Rome, the YOUCAT Foundation will distribute 10,000 copies of the book YOUCAT Confession. The special jubilee edition is available in four languages—Italian, English, French, and German—and is the result of a collaboration with ACN International, an organization which is very active in projects supporting the Christian faith in over 140 countries.
The book, first published in 2014 and now updated, is intended to be a tool for deepening understanding of the sacrament of reconciliation, with the aim of offering young people a simple and practical access guide to this aspect of Christian life. The new edition includes a revised examination of conscience, simple explanations of the meaning of confession, and helpful prayers.
Two contributions stand out among the new contents: an interview with Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Major Penitentiary of the Church, on the transformative value of confession, and a testimony by German theologian and journalist Rudolph Gehrig, who reflects personally on the experience of forgiveness.
In the preface, Archbishop Rino Fisichella emphasizes the role of mercy as a central element of the sacrament and invites young people to experience these days in Rome as an opportunity for renewal, bringing the experience of peace and reconciliation into their daily lives.
The distribution of the book is just one of the activities put in place for young people during the Holy Year, with the aim of providing practical aids for rediscovering their faith and encouraging conscious participation in sacramental life.
