The itinerary of the churches of the European Union, in Latin, the ‘Iter Europaeum’, involves stop-offs at 28 churches and basilicas. Each church on the pilgrim path is linked to a member state of the EU either for artistic or cultural reasons or because the church has a tradition of welcoming pilgrims to Rome who have come from a specific state of the EU.
