“Julia” has arrived, the new virtual assistant from Rome City Council for Jubilee pilgrims

24 March 2025

March 7 saw the launch of ‘Julia’, the virtual assistant developed by Rome City Council, to help citizens, tourists and pilgrims move around the Eternal City. The new digital platform, which will also simplify access to public services, is available at https://julia.comune.roma.it/en/ and allows citizens to carry out admin tasks, consult services and receive updates all in real time.

During the Jubilee, Julia will provide essential info for pilgrims on hotels and services for overnight stays, waiting times for buses, trains and all public transport, and flights and taxi fares. In addition, it can be used to find places to eat based on the location, type of food, and budget. Julia also provides information on the location of water fountains, information points and toilets, and offers advice on cultural heritage, with details of museums and events. The calendar of celebrations for the Jubilee Year and Jubilee events are also available. It can also be used to find information on pharmacies, waiting times at hospital emergency rooms and alerts from the Civil Protection Agency.

Citizens of Rome will be able to use the Julia platform to manage admin practices online, follow their progress and submit requests, with the aim of simplifying bureaucratic procedures. It also allows users to receive updates on deadlines and news from the Municipality, as well as offering online assistance and guides to help users find their way round the city.

Julia represents an important step towards a smarter and more digital Rome, simplifying the interaction between citizens and the public administration. Thanks to its ease of use and the digitalization of services, the platform makes administrative processes faster and more accessible.
