“The Path of Hope. Rembrandt and Burnand in Rome” exhibition extended until June 8
In response to public demand and following many requests received by the Dicastery, the exhibition “The Path of Hope. Rembrandt and Burnand in Rome” which was inaugurated on Wednesday 9 April 2025 and scheduled to run until Monday 2 June 2025 at the Church of San Marcello al Corso in Rome, will be extended by one week until Sunday 8 June.
The exhibition, curated by Don Alessio Geretti, is part of “The Jubilee is Culture” season and consists of two works of exceptional importance: The disciples Peter and John run together to the tomb of Christ on the morning of the Resurrection by Eugène Burnand (1898) and The Supper at Emmaus by Rembrandt Harmenszoon Van Rijn (1629). These are two of the most famous paintings in the world dedicated to Easter, the day of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
The event has already had 130,000 visitors.
