The first large scale event of the ‘Jubilee is culture’ season, staged in preparation for the next Holy Year, has been a great public success. More than 270,000 people visited the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone to admire the masterpieces of the Spanish artist El Greco in the exhibition ‘The Heavens Opened’. Three works by the artist were on display in the Piazza Navona church from 6 September until 5 October.

Archbishop Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, said: “After the success of the El Greco exhibition, we want to invite everyone to the forthcoming concert being staged in preparation for the #Jubilee which will take place on 26 November at the Auditorium Conciliazione. The Kyiv Virtuosi Orchestra will perform for us Dvořák’s ‘New World’ symphony.”

Details of how to take part in this free event will be announced soon.
