Preparing for Tor Vergata: What to Bring for the 2025 Youth Jubilee

28 July 2025

Ahead of the 2025 Youth Jubilee, which will culminate on August 2nd and 3rd at the Tor Vergata campus in Rome, participants are advised to plan carefully what they will need to bring. A large, easily carried backpack suitable for all essentials for the entire stay is recommended, as well as a smaller backpack for use during the day.

The night between Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd will involve an outdoor overnight stay so each participant should bring a sleeping bag, a mat, or an inflatable pillow. It will also be helpful to bring a small torch or headlamp for nighttime activities, to be able to easily navigate the area if necessary.

We recommend practical clothing suitable for high summer temperatures but be prepared also for sudden changes in the weather. It is strongly recommended that participants wear comfortable, well-worn shoes, preferably sneakers/trainers, as well as a lightweight rain jacket in case of sudden weather changes. Special attention should be paid to sun protection: it is advisable to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle to ensure proper hydration for the hottest hours of the day.

It is also recommended to bring a power bank to keep your mobile phone charged, which will be needed to access information and translation services via the official Iubilaeum25, Vatican Vox, and Vatican Radio apps. It is best to download the apps before arrival to maximize the digital content offered during the event.

Pilgrims should not bring valuables, should be careful about their safety, and carefully store documents, money, and personal devices, preferably in inside pockets or small bags which can be worn at all times. It is also recommended that they write their name on backpacks, clothing, and personal items to facilitate identification in the event of loss.

Access to Tor Vergata will be possible only by public transport or organized and registered buses. The use of private vehicles is not permitted. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to travel with easy-to-carry luggage.

Finally, please note that the area will be equipped with toilets, water points, medical stations, refreshment areas, and audiovisual equipment to ensure maximum participation, even in the areas furthest from the stage.

Participating in the Youth Jubilee is a unique experience of faith and communion. Preparing carefully and responsibly means contributing to the smooth running of the event and allowing everyone to experience it in the joy, safety, and spirit of welcome that inspires the whole Jubilee.
