The exhibition, ‘The Heavens Opened – El Greco in Rome’, the first great cultural event of the ‘Jubilee is Culture’ program held in preparation for the #Jubilee, closed on 5 October.
For a month, three masterpieces by the Spanish renaissance artist were on display in the church in Piazza Navona, with free admission to the public. More than 288,000 people were able to admire The Holy Family with St Anne, The Baptism of Christ and Christ Carries the Cross, canvases which were on display outside Spain for the first time ever.
From today The Holy Family with St Anne and The Baptism of Christ will be on display at the Palazzo Reale in Milan until 11 February 2024.
The second large event being staged in preparation for the Jubilee will take place on Sunday 26 November. The Virtuosi Orchestra of Kyiv will perform the music of Antonin Leopold Dvořák at the Conciliazione Auditorium in Rome. The concert is open to all until tickets are all gone.
