Today the second meeting took place with the Jubilee Delegates from the Dioceses of Italy

24 November 2023

There was much enthusiasm evident today in the New Synod Hall for the second meeting of the Jubilee Delegates of the Italian Dioceses, convened by the Dicastery for Evangelization.

170 representatives came to the Vatican, lay people, priests and consecrated women, for discussions on how to co-ordinate activities ahead of the Holy Year. In the morning the Pro-prefect of the Dicastery to which the Jubilee has been entrusted, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, took stock of the organization of the Jubilee events so far, underlining specific programs and themes.

There was also ample space given over to questions from the diocesan representatives. “Today men and women have so many hopes. In our day we live by hopes,” emphasized Archbishop Fisichella. But he added: “What we want to communicate with the Jubilee, however, is Hope, in the singular.”

The afternoon is dedicated to more technical information which will focus on practical aspects of pilgrims' arrival in Rome, such as registration for the Jubilee through the website and the app, and the pilgrim card.
