Archbishop Fisichella on Italian TV program The Diary of Pope Francis: “Talk about faith with the language of hope”

On Tuesday 9 April the Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, was a studio guest on the Tv2000 broadcast "Il Diario di Papa Francesco".

A month before the publication of the Papal Bull announcing the Jubilee, which is scheduled for May 9th, the importance of this Year of Prayer in preparation for the Holy Year was discussed. Grants made available by the Dicastery for Evangelization will help people to rediscover prayer in its various forms, in support of the "School of Prayer" initiative which Pope Francis will soon present to the faithful of his own diocese.

The importance of Hope, a virtue that is often overshadowed by Faith and Charity, was underlined in the TV show, even though Hope  is an integral part of the dynamics of everyday life.

“The great challenge we must face in evangelization is this: how to talk about faith using the language of hope. We need to show signs that help people see first-hand that hope is not an abstract word but rather an event that touches the lives of each one of us" said Archbishop Fisichella.

For this reason, the organization of the Jubilee has been working for some time to try to ensure that Rome becomes, in the words of Pope Francis, "A city of hope".
